Deployment Field Engineer

You'll be the main technical presence at one of our customer sites — first helping develop the deployment, then living it day-to-day once the robots are up and running. Equal parts engineer and on-site translator between our engineering team and the customer.
Notes
50% travel expected. This role is in-person in Cambridge, MA 5-days per week when not traveling.

What You'll Do
Represent engineering on-site, supporting both development and deployment
Build testing plans and procedures tailored to the customer site, in line with our roadmap
Run tests on-site — track data, debug issues, keep things moving
Make sure testing goals are met while keeping the customer happy with performance
Dig into the data you collect to help improve our software and hardware
Keep engineering in the loop with clear, useful feedback
What We're Looking For
-haves:
An Engineering or Business degree, or the equivalent in hands-on industry battle scars
Deep experience (5+ years with a BS, 3+ with an MS) managing complex integrations or robotics systems
Proven ability to lead multi-layered technical rollouts where hardware, software, and boots-on-the-ground ops collide
The ability to demystify complex tech for anyone from the warehouse floor to the boardroom to ensure everyone is on the same page
Nice-to-haves:
Comfortable refining processes so they scale cleanly across many different sites
Hands-on with CAD for site planning, enterprise networking (VLANs/VPNs), and Python or C++ APIs
You're good in ambiguity — early-stage rollouts don't come with a manual, and you build the structure yourself
An instinct for how a great technical integration can turn into a bigger account win

Dynamic Creatures is a robotics company designing and building interactive character robots for entertainment and hospitality brands. We are creating a new category of mobile characters that move naturally through guest environments, understand the context of an interaction and respond in real time. Dynamic Creatures offers character-based experiences built on Boston Dynamics and other systems, as well as fully original robots created for a specific brand, environment or story. As Boston Dynamics’ official entertainment and hospitality partner, the company works with entertainment companies to develop guest-facing character experiences designed to feel personal, attentive, and memorable. Dynamic Creatures was co-founded by CEO Marc Theermann, former chief strategy officer at Boston Dynamics and a former senior leader at Google, and chief technology officer Farbod Farshidian, a globally recognized robotics researcher and former research leader at the Robotics and AI Institute.
